| Nature
of work that we intend to outsource: |
| There
are 2 types of work that we outsource: |
| Type
1 |
1. |
This work has to be executed
online. This is NOT FTP-based work
where you receive voice files and
send the transcripts back. |
2. |
All the files will be processed
by voice recognition engine (VRE).
Once the VRE processes a file, it
gives the transcript output at an
accuracy ranging from 80-98%. You
will have to ONLY proofread this transcript,
and you will be paid charges for PROOFING
only for this job. |
3. |
VRE cannot output proper transcript
for some physicians. For these physicians,
you will have to someone transcribe
the job manually. You might want to
proofread this once again before sending
the client too. For this job, you
will be paid transcription rates. |
4. |
VRE takes 30-45 days to recognize
and give automatic transcript. Until
then, you are expected to transcribe
for which you shall be paid transcription
rates. |
5. |
You can only use MT professionals
who have prior experience in direct
submission to transcribe/proofread
our work. |
6. |
Using 2 people to execute one
job will not make our work profitable.
You should use only one person to
proofread and probably can use 2 level
for transcription work only. |
| Type
2 |
1. |
This work has to be executed
online using our software. This is
NOT FTP-based work where you receive
voice files and send the transcripts
back. |
2. |
All the files will have to
be first transcribed manually. If
your MTs are capable of uploading
the work directly to the client, then
you can do so. However, if you want
to have it proofread by another level,
then that option is available in the
software, and you may do so. After
proofreading, you will have to upload
the files directly to the client. |
| Who
need not apply: |
1. |
People who are wanting to start
an MT company and want MT work outsourced
from Focus for that company. |
2. |
A group of experienced MTs
who have started MT work at home. |
3. |
Companies who do not have spare
capacity of 5000 lines to be submitted
direct. |
4. |
Companies who need one more
level of proofing support forever
by Focus before submitting the work
to the client. |
5. |
Companies who want higher rates
than what is proposed already. |
| Procedure
to get business from us: |
1. |
Send your company profile to
 |
2. |
As a company, we maintain a
database of MT companies. We have
our own format of collecting company
profile, which is uploaded to our
database. |
3. |
You will be issued a vendor
ID, which needs to be quoted every
time you talk/write to anyone in Focus. |
4. |
Once we are convinced about
your company profile, you will have
to take up a test wherein we will
be sending you 25 voice files via
FTP. You will have to send us back
the transcripts. We will check the
quality of these transcripts and decide
whether or not to proceed with you
because of quality reasons. |
5. |
We shall visit your premises
to check your setup, manpower, and
give a test at your premises to check
the quality of work that your staff
can produce. Alternatively, we might
give test remotely too by uploading
voice files to a FTP site, ask you
to download the files from that site,
transcribe, and submit the transcripts
back within a given # of hours. |
6. |
Once you pass the transcription
test, you will have to come down to
Bangalore along with your production
manager to sign the vendor contract
with Focus. |
| How
to go about once selected? |
1. |
You would need to come down
to Bangalore for a presentation of
the software platform that you would
be executing our work on. Duration
could be 1-2 days depending on the
personnel's performance and understanding
on day #1 of induction. |
2. |
One person has to be the head
from production department with MT
background who would require to go
back and educate his/her team and
extract quality work from them. |
3. |
The second person should be
from technical background to understand
the installation of the software and
bandwidth requirements, foot pedal
adjustments, etc. |
4. |
The third person would be the
director or authorized signatory of
the company who would be signing the
work execution agreement. |
5. |
The person coming here would
have to transcribe/edit at least 4-6
files during the orientation program
to better understand the platform
and get all concerns/queries addressed
on executing live jobs. |
| Miscellaneous
facts that you need to know |
| |
A minimum of 95% of your work
needs to be uploaded to client from
your premises, and a maximum of 5%
of the work can be pended for blanks/doubts. |
| |
Even one individual ending
up with quality issues could lead
to ceasing the entire company's volumes;
a client complaint especially would
be dealt more stringently. |
